Abdullah bin Zayed, Australian FM discuss bilateral relations

CANBERRA, 17th February, 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, today met with Australia’s Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, in the Australian capital.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the investments exchange field and establishment of more joint projects, as well as increasing trade and economic exchange rates.

The parties also tackled ways to benefit from the outstanding economic statures of both sides, and open up new horizons of joint investment in various domains including tourism, petrochemical industry and others for the benefit of the two sides’ interests.

Sheikh Abdullah and Ms. Bishop also discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as exchanging views on a number of issues of mutual concerns.

At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah attended a banquet hosted by the Australian minister in his honour.

The banquet was also attended by Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Robb, and Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of East Asia and Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
