Abdullah bin Zayed receives Thai Deputy Prime Minister

ABU DHABI, 23rd February, 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, today received the visiting General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, at the Ministry.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Patimapragorn, stressing the visit would enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, especially in the economic, trade and investment domains.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the UAE’s keenness on boosting ties with Thailand to the aantage of the two countries’ joint interests.

On his part, the Thai Foreign Minister highlighted the strong friendship relations and cooperation between the two sides in various domains. He also expressed his country’s desire to extend bridges of bilateral cooperation in the government and private sectors, pointing out the encouraging potential of both sides which would contribute to building a constructive platform that would lead towards new horizons of cooperation and fruitful economic and investment partnership.

They also tackled a number of issues of mutual concern in the framework of the latest regional and international development. On the sidelines of the meeting, agreements to enhance security cooperation and encourage investment were inked between the two countries.

Khalid Ghanem Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, attended the meeting.
