Abu Dhabi Police achieve record levels of energy rationalisation

ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has achieved a record 6% level of energy rationalisation in the second quarter of 2014. This achievement was attained thanks to the diligent efforts of the various departments and staff members.

Major-General Khalil Dawood Badran, Chairman of the Green Applications Higher Committee at the Ministry of Interior, hosted a ceremony to honour the distinguished police departments that contributed to energy conservation. He also honoured heads of departments and work teams, for their instrumental role in improving environmental performance, saying that they are a role model to be emulated by others.

He said, “Upon the insightful directions of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and in line with our keenness to implement the best green applications, preserve the environment, prevent pollution and improve environmental performance to preserve natural resources and support their sustainability for the coming generations, the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ has adopted a set of mechanisms and policies related to rationalising consumption of water, electricity, fuel and paper.” He emphasised Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to adopt green application policies and practices aimed at enhancing environmental performance, and reducing the depletion of resources resulting from their operations. It has also been encouraging positive practices that improve overall environmental performance across the country and achieve the UAE’s National Green Growth Strategy goals.
