ADFD discusses cooperation with Djibouti

ABUDHABI, 4th February, 2015 (WAM) — Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), has met with Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, Djibouti’s Foreign Minister, to discuss cooperation between both countries.

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Fund in Abu Dhabi, Al Suwaidi said that the UAE and Djibouti share close bilateral relations and the fund is keen to develop this through continuous support for projects of a priority to the government of Djibouti, particularly in the infrastructure sector.

Al Suwaidi added that the issues of development and the fight against poverty and unemployment remain the focus of the UAE, pointing out that the Abu Dhabi Fund spares no efforts in strengthening global partnerships as well as unifying efforts to employ international development aid as an effective means to address economic and social challenges that hinder the development process in developing countries.

Mahamoud Ali Youssouf praised the fund’s role in supporting sustainable development plans in developing countries, pointing out that his visit to the UAE comes within the framework of his country’s keenness to strengthen the partnership with the fund in order to support the development process in his country.
