Ajman Ruler issues Decree reorganising the Department of Economic Development

AJMAN, 23rd February, 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has issued an Emiri Decree on the reorganisation of the Department of Economic Development in the emirate.

The Decree stipulated the department’s goals and objectives, most importantly achieving sustainable economic development in the emirate, devoting particular attention to adopting policies of transforming to green economy policies, organising economic affairs and revitalising the business sector in the emirate.

Commenting on issuing the Decree, Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Representative of H.H. the Ruler of Ajman, the Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Ajman, said, “The issuance of an Emiri Decree on the Department by Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid is a step towards a new strategy aimed to strength the role of the department in Ajman in particular and the whole country in general, to enable it to improve the performance of the economic sector in the emirate and raise its competitiveness.” Sheikh Ahmed said that this decree identified the department’s work mechanisms, which aim to facilitate the procedures and the development of services for investors and those who wish to enter the economic labour market in the Emirate of Ajman in order to attract domestic and foreign investments and to be a centre of commercial and investment attraction to turn the emirate into an oasis of economy and sustainable development.

The Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and should be circulated to all concerned entities.
