Ajman Ruler receives copy of Ras Al Khaimah Encyclopaedia

AJMAN, 7th February 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has received a copy of “Ras Al Khaimah Encyclopaedia”, the first work to document 80 years of the history of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

The copy of the encyclopaedia was presented to H.H. Sheikh Humaid by its author, Najib Al Shamsi.

During the meeting at H.H. Sheikh Humaid’s Emiri Court, Al Shamsi gave a presentation on the three-volume encyclopaedia which elaborates on the political, economic, social, cultural, art, media and sports transformations over the past eight decades.

H.H. Sheikh Humaid praised Al Shamsi for his effort for over four years to finish the 1700-page work.

He also urged scholars and intellectuals to conduct further research into the UAE heritage and noted that many areas can serve as topics for more similar works.
