Ammar Al Nuaimi issues resolution for conducting general census on population, housing and establishments

AJMAN, 15th February, 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and chairman of the Executive, has issued a resolution regarding the carrying out of the 2016 general census of population, houses and establishments in the emirate.

The resolution comes as part of the Ajman government’s efforts to implement Ajman Vision 2021. It has assigned the Secretariat General of the Executive Council to follow up on plans and policies pertaining to the census, along with their implementation.

The resolution has also assigned the Secretariat General of the Executive Council to refer all recommendations to the Council, and to supervise its execution in accordance with the latest international standards in order to increase production levels and enhance development to achieve the Ajman Strategy and the vision of the wise leadership to ensure the happiness of Emiratis and expatriate residents.

Also, resolution No. 2 of 2015 has set down a number of articles to implement the necessary resolutions from the date of their issuance in the official Gazette.

Under the resolution, the Secretariat General of the Executive Council will be responsible for conducting census and applying the necessary technical and administrative procedures to implement it within the rules approved by the Secretary General.

The resolution has given details on the role of the Secretary General, who will form a number of temporary committees to be responsible for conducting the census during its various stages, as well as assigning its missions and specialties.

Article No. 7 stipulates that all local and federal departments in the emirate should cooperate with the Statistics and Research Department of the Executive Council of Ajman in the field of conducting the census and providing necessary data.
