AP Speaker condemns killing of Palestinian minister

Cairo: Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, today condemned the killing of a Palestinian minister in a confrontation with Israeli troops on Wednesday in the West Bank.

”The heinous killing of minister Ziyad Abu Ein, head of the Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlements, confirms that the Zionist government is practicing state terrorism and a racist policy against the Palestinian people without the basic consideration of international conventions, charters and conventions on human rights,” he said in a statement, regretting that Israel always gets away with its crimes without international accountability.

He called on the international community to provide protection for the occupied Palestinian people, implementation of the four Geneva Conventions and demanded that the United Nations and the world’s influential powers work towards enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights in establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital in line with international legitimacy resolutions.
