Assistant Foreign Minister receives copies of credentials of new US Ambassador

ABU DHABI: Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, UAE’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, today received a copy of the credentials of Barbara A. Leaf, the US Ambassador-designate to the country.

At their meeting, Al Jarman wished the ambassador success in her mission to expand cooperation between the UAE and the US.

The Assistant Foreign Minister stressed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen and develop its relations with the US, reflecting the aspirations and direction of the top leadership of both countries to serve their common goals and interests, and to meet and serve the interests of the people of both countries.

Al Jarman also stressed that the ambassador will receive the Ministry’s full support and assistance to carry out her job in developing relations between the two countries, and taking them to higher levels, which will contribute to the consolidation and development of their relations in various fields. The Minister also called for the expansion of the base of mutual cooperation on the level of bilateral and multilateral relations.

The US Ambassador expressed her pleasure to be representing her country in the UAE, which enjoys regional and international prestige thanks to the wise policies of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
