Chinese ambassador hails U.A.E.’s support to women and humanitarian work

ABU DHABI: Ambassador of China to U.A.E., Huang Jiemin, on Wednesday hailed the U.A.E.’s support to women’s development and humanitarian work and the General Women’s Union (GWU), led by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, to empower promote women’s effective participation in development.

The Chinese Ambassador made his remarks as he met Director-General of GWU, Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, to discuss preparations for the China-Arab Women Summit in Abu Dhabi on 25 November.

Ambassador Jiemin said the summit will coincide with marking thirty years of diplomatic relations with U.A.E.

He affirmed that China will spare no effort for the success of the summit.

The Chinese envoy also hailed the efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of GWU, Family Development Foundation (FDF), Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to empower Emirati women in all fields and sectors.

The third edition of the Sino-Arab women’s summit is being co-organised by China-Arab Exchange Association (CAEA), U.A.E. Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and U.A.E. General Women’s Union.

On her part, Ms. Al Suwaidi said the summit will also coincide with U.A.E.’s celebrations of its 43 National Day.

Members of China’s CAEA and members of U.A.E.’s Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood attended the meeting which took place at GWU.
