DUBAI: The Dar Al Ber Society spares no effort to cope with the cutting-edge developments in all walks of life, and fully integrate with the Dubai Government smart programmess for the benefit of over 28,000 orphans under its sponsorship locally and in 27 countries.
This was affirmed by Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, Member of Board Council and Head of Local Affairs Sector at the society while honouring 104 volunteers who devotedly chipped in for the 9th Orphans Day held at the Dubai World Trade Centre during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The annual ceremony, run under the generous auspices of Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, saw the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, dignitaries and senior officials.
“Sheikha Hind, Wife of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, yearly donates AED1 million to over 28,000 orphans under the Dar Al Ber Society sponsorship in the UAE and in 27 Arab, African, and Islamic countries.” Meanwhile, Al Muhairi, along with Hussain Murad Al Balooshi, the Director of the Orphans and Families Department, who was the General Coordinator of the 9th Orphans Day Ceremony, gifted the honorees, including 68 men and 26 women, with valuable prizes and appreciation certificates.
Indicating the pivotal role of voluntary work, Al Muhairi paid a tribute to the 104 honoured male and female volunteers for their tireless effort to make a success of the 9th Orphans Day, and please the orphans present.
“Dar Al Ber Society, along its over 35-year history, transparently maximises its philanthropic effort to bring happiness to the poor, needy, and orphans on its own or in collaboration with other bodies and entities, particularly the UAE Office for Coordination of Foreign Aid at the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development.” This is also in line with the ‘Happiness Indicator’ launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, to measure people’s satisfaction with government services on a daily basis, he stated.
“Dar Al Ber Society exerts its utmost to adopt all smart government programmes here as per the instructions of our prudent leadership to boost charity work, make orphans happy, and deliver philanthropists’ donations to eligible beneficiaries,” he said, noting that the society is fully geared up for the 10th Orphans Day next year.
