A delegation from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has recently visited Milan, Italy, to discuss participation of Italian companies in the 17th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition, WETEX 2015.
WETEX is organised under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA. It will be held from 21st to 23rd April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The delegation included Saeed Bel Jafla, Deputy Senior Manager of Protocol and Hospitality and Abdul Syed Abdul Hameed, Senior Manager of Contracts. They met with the Italian Trade Commission, which is the government body in charge of promoting business opportunities and industrial cooperation between Italian and foreign companies. It regulates participation of Italian companies in exhibitions, workshops, and meetings in over 100 countries around the world.
The meeting discussed the excellent investment opportunities that WETEX 2015 provides. It also addressed participation of Italian exhibitors through the Italian Trade Commission, and increasing the space reserved for the Italian pavilion, which is currently around 540 square metres.
The delegation held a number of meetings with Italian organisations including, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency, and the Italian Chambers of Commerce. The meetings discussed facilitating a visit by an Italian trade delegation to WETEX and enhancing the official Italian participation in local exhibitions in the UAE. The delegation also held meetings with a number of key investors including ‘Global Engineering Solutions.’ DEWA delegation also met representatives from the Italian Water Association, and the Italian Power Association to discuss their participation in WETEX 2015 and accompanying workshops.
WETEX 2015 will be held under the umbrella of the 2nd Green Week, and coincides with the World Green Economy, strengthening Dubai’s position as the capital of green economy and sustainable development.
