DEWA organises “Quench their Thirst” campaign for third year running

DUBAI: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA recently organised its Arweehom (Arabic for Quench their Thirst) campaign for the third consecutive year, aimed at expanding its social responsibility by promoting the values of giving, solidarity and volunteerism among its staff and customers.

The initiative provides DEWA employees and labourers from contracting companies working within DEWA s projects, with meals, bottles of cold water and food-storage bags. The campaign also distributed leaflets to labourers highlighting the importance of drinking lots of water during the summer.

The campaign maintains ties between management and staff and promotes best practices for building a stimulating working environment by appreciating the efforts of both DEWA and its contractors employees.

“DEWA adopts a strategy that enhances its social responsibility by promoting the values of giving, solidarity and volunteerism among its staff and customers. This is achieved through various activities and programmes that spread awareness throughout society, enhances cooperation and solidarity and boosts sustainable development,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

Al Tayer thanked all the employees who took part in this initiative, which is key to DEWA s Corporate Social Responsibility objectives.
