Dubai Chamber donates AED2 million to UAE Suqia initiative

DUBAI: In response to the U.A.E. Suqia initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to provide clean drinking water to 5 million people in countries experiencing severe water shortages, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has donated AED2 million to support this humanitarian cause during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The donation came as part of Dubai Chamber s commitment to society and the needy, under its corporate social responsibility strategy to promote responsible and sustainable business practices amongst the business community, thus encouraging businesses to carry out their duties toward the communities and the world at large.

Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, lauded the humanitarian initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who he said is known for launching initiatives that cater to the needs of people around the world who are deprived of the basic needs of leading a decent life.
