DWE concludes Professional Development session on Leading Cross-Cultural Communication

DUBAI: Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) and The Protocol School of Washington (PSOW) have concluded a Professional Development programme on Leading Cross-Cultural Communication for working women.

The programme is in line with the DWE s strategic goal to promote leadership qualities amongst working women which includes activities and training aimed at enhancing individual performance and career development of women.

Hessa Tahlak, Director of Development, Research and Projects Department at DWE, in her comment on the session, said, “The Professional Development offered by Dubai Women Establishment is an opportunity for women to develop their understanding skills with diverse cultural background, cultivate cross-cultural relationships, and understand key dimensions of communication style and how to communicate with their employees and executives from other cultures in collaboration with specialised domestic and international institution and organisations”.

Pamela Eyring, President of the PSOW, said, “This is the first time we have organised a dedicated programme for Senior Emirati Women, and I was pleased to see their interest and participation during the programme.” She added, “I would like to thank the Dubai Women Establishment team for their support during the programme”.

Saeed Al-Salkhadi, Managing Director of the Middle East Regional Office of the PSOW, said, “Our partnership with Dubai Women Establishment has evolved to cater for several categories and needs from the professional development aspect. We look forward to continue supporting DWE’s role in empowering Emirati Women”.

The Professional Development sessions, which were launched in 2008, have so far covered a number of issues related to women when they venture out into the work place and have identified and discussed problems related to personality dimensions and group dynamics, setting boundaries and dealing with diversity issues in the workplace.
