Egypt’s Grand Mufti hails close relations with U.A.E.

ABU DHABI: Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawqi Ibrahim Allam on Sunday hailed the close relations between U.A.E. and Egypt and the role of the U.A.E. leadership, namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in supporting Egypt, and noted that H.H. President Khalifa’s leadership has earned the respect of Muslims and the peoples of the world.

Mr. Allam made his remarks as he arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport to join other invited guest Islamic scholars who are on Ramadan-long visit to U.A.E.

He also hailed President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed’s interest in scholars and paid tribute to U.A.E.’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The Egyptian mufti also expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and the other guest Islamic scholars.

Egypt’s Grand Mufti was welcomed upon arrival by Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf).

Mr. Al Mazrouie noted the role of scholars and Dar al Ifta’ (House of Fatwas) in promoting awareness, love and the tolerance of Islam.

Mr. Al Mazrouie further noted that the guest scholars programme is organised by Awqaf under the aegis of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, follows up the guest Islamic scholars programme.
