Emirates Centre for Policy discusses relations with US Council on Foreign Relations

ABU DHABI, 28th October, 2015 (WAM) — The Emirates Centre for Policy in Abu Dhabi and a delegation from the US Council on Foreign Relations, headed by James Lindsay, Deputy Director of the Council, have discussed ways to find a framework for cooperation between them based on encouraging independent thinking in regional and global issues.
Dr. Ibtisam Al Ketbi, Chairwoman of the Emirates Centre for Policy, said that the meeting comes within the centre’s plans to open up to research and global thinking centres and diversification of partnerships in order to find a common understanding of the issues and challenges facing the world and the Gulf and Arab regions.
Al Ketbi added that the meeting also comes in preparation for the second Abu Dhabi Strategy Forum, which will be held in Abu Dhabi on the 1st and 2nd of November, with the attendance of more than 300 participants from political, economic and academic departments.
Dr. Al Ketbi talked about the political situation in the region and the rapid transformations taking place in it, as well as the challenges and opportunities arising from them for the Gulf States in particular.
For his part, Lindsey expressed his admiration for the experience of the Emirates Centre for Policy that has grown in the two years since its inception to become a regular name on the map of the research and thinking centres and is able to participate in policy-making through research and studies produced on a regular basis.
