Energy Min.: The 10th Arab Energy Conference platform for dialogue, cooperation

ABU DHABI: The 10th Arab Energy Conference in Abu Dhabi provides a platform for dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders in the energy sector in Arab countries and also for introducing potential investment opportunities in the Middle East, said Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Chairman of the conference.

He also lambasted media reports that spoke of a conspiracy theory behind the falling oil prices.

“The recommendations of the conference represent a guiding framework for addressing the changes in the (energy) sector,” Minister Al Mazrouie added in statements on the sidelines of the three-day conference taking place at Viceroy Hotel, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, with the theme of “Energy and Arab Cooperation.” The gathering, he said, addresses the issues of various energy resources and not only oil and gas.

“The UAE is pursuing an excellent approach in dealing with (energy) waste, using technology-dependent rationalisation.” Minister Al Mazrouie also called upon the media “to strive for accuracy and stop being driven by wrong information disseminated through certain media outlets that either have minsunderstandings or purposefully seek to create confusion in the oil markets.” The minister emphasised once again that that the “conspiracy theory is a lie because all involved parties suffer damage as a result of falling oil prices.”
