ERC continues distribution of humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan

AMMAN: The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has continued for the third day in a row to distribute humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan as part of the initiative of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Honorary President of the Emirates Red Crescent, to provide winter needs for the refugees.

The aid is being distributed in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Amman, the Emirati relief team and the Jordanian Red Crescent Society, along with a number of international humanitarian organisations working in the Jordanian arena.

A delegation from the ERC, chaired by Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERC, participated in the distribution.

About 14,000 Syrian refugees inside and outside camps in Jordan benefit from this aid.

Dr. Al Mazrouei praised the role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in the protection and care of refugees around the world, and said that her attention to the humanitarian situation for Syrian refugees confirms her diligent follow-up of the latest developments and implications of the challenges they currently face.

Dr. Al Mazrouei stressed that such generous initiatives enhance the international community’s efforts to overcome difficulties and provide greater care for the refugees.

He stressed the keenness of the ERC to implement the initiative of H.H. Sheikha Fatima, to achieve her aspirations, and to strengthen efforts to alleviate the suffering of Syrian families.
