ERC delivers urgent relief to Jordanian families affected by rains in Jordan

Amman, 28th October, 2015 (WAM) – The UAE relief response team at the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees in Mrajeeb Al Fhood in Jordan has offered urgent winter assistance to a group of families living in random tents at Al Azraq area of the Zarqa Governorate in Jordan.
Recent torrential rains in Jordan have washed away their tents.
Abdullah Al Shehi, Deputy Manager of the camp, affirmed the Emirates Red Crescent’s readiness to provide life-saving assistance to these families affected by the extreme weather conditions which Jordan experienced recently.
He said the relief section at the camp yesterday received a call from the Al Azraq Society appealing for delivery of urgent help to families in the Al Azraq area.
”We responded to the appeal by swiftly providing winter aid to the affected families which includes blankets, winter clothing and food materials,” he said, and added that the ERC was ready to co-operate with other charity societies approved by the Jordan Ministry of Social Affairs to help these families.
Beneficiaries expressed their thanks to the leadership, government and people of the UAE for the prompt and timely assistance.
