First batch of President’s Guest scholars arrives

ABU DHABI: The First batch of the U.A.E. President’s guest programme for Ramadan, made of 17 scholars from Egypt, Morocco, India and Malaysia, arrived yesterday at the Abu Dhabi International Airport to spiritually enrich Ramadan nights.

The scholar who are in the U.A.E. at the invitation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan were received by Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (AWQAF), Dr. Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, Director-General of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, GAIAE and a number of officials in the authority.

Dr. Hamdan welcomed the guests and conveyed for them the greetings of the U.A.E. wise leadership and the Emirati people, commending their great role in the spread of awareness, love and moderation values among Muslims, as well as highlighting the Islam’s tolerant image and immortal message.

He also emphasised that the annual gesture stresses President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa’s keenness to enrich the Holy Month of Ramadan with spiritual lecture such as: reciting Qur’an and better time investment.

On their part, the scholars and lectures hailed the noble stances of Sheikh Khalifa and his wise leadership which is appreciated globally, expressing further progress and welfare for the U.A.E. people.
