FUJAIRAH: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, congratulated the Fujairah Natural Resources Authority (FNRA) for having been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 on Information Security Management Systems during a meeting today with chairman and members of the FNRA.
ISO/IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization.
Sheikh Mohammed urged the FNRA to maintain its high quality standards in the delivery of services in compliance with the ISO standards and called on its planners to devise strategic plans in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the Fujairah’s comprehensive plan 2040.
Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Chairman of the FNRA, briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the achievements of his entity, saying that it would not have been possible without the support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah and the close follow up by Sheikh Mohammed.
The FNRA has become the first government entity in the emirate of Fujairah to obtain the ISO certification on information security management. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has awarded the certification following a thorough audit of the FNRA’s safety and security of information systems.
