GCAA partakes ICAO’s meet

MONTREAL: A delegation from the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) recently took part in the recent Meeting of the Facilitation Panel (FALP) of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada.

Wafa Abdulla Al Obaidali, Head of Safety & Security, who is nominated to be the UAE representative to the ICAO’s panel , led the GCAA delegation to the Montreal meeting.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of GCAA, underscored the importance of the role the panel plays in updating civil aviation standards, facilities and regulations.

For her part, Al Obaidali noted that the FALP recent meeting discussed, among other topics, ICAO Traveller Identification Programme (ICAO TRIP), amendments to standards, recommendations of Annex 9 to the Chicago Convention and the adoption of Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) for international civil aviation.
