GCC water strategy is 65% complete

Riyadh, 5th February, 2015 (WAM) – A study on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)omprehensive strategy on water is 65 per cent complete, a top GCC official has revealed.

”The strategy, which primarily aim is to develop a unified water vision for the next 20 years, will be ready by October 2015,” Abdullah Al Shibli, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs, stated on Thursday ahead of the meeting of the technical team tasked with preparing the study.

The team is holding its 8th meeting in Saudi capital Riyadh later today with the consultant, King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies, to discuss the progress of the study.

The study is conducted in the framework of directives issued by the GCC leaders.
