Ghobash targets labour market cooperation with Lebanon and Afghanistan

GENEVA: Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, U.A.E. Minister of Labour, met separately with his Lebanese and Afghani counterparts, Sejaan Azzi and Amina Afzali, on the sidelines of the International Labour Conference, which is holding its 103rd session in the ILO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Both meetings covered ways of enhancing cooperation in the field of labour markets, manpower and exchange of experiences and best practices.

The Ministers congratulated the U.A.E. on being selected as a board member of the ILO for the period 2014-17, praising the wisdom of the U.A.E. s leadership, their achievements and gains made across the country at various levels.

Mr. Ghobash highlighted the U.A.E. s keenness on playing a distinctive role on the ILO board of directors and contribute effectively with other members to improve the organisation s performance to better serve the interests of the parties.

The meetings were attended by Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, Assistant Under-Secretary of Policy and Strategy Affairs at the Ministry of Labour, alongside members of the participating delegations.
