HCT donates for Show Compassion campaign

DUBAI, 6th February 2015 (WAM) — The Higher Colleges of Technology- Dubai (HCT) last month offered cash and in-kind donations for the UAE’s Show Compassion humanitarian Campaign (Tarahamu in Arabic) launched recently by the UAE leaders to help refugees in the Levant region survive the current harsh winter.

Chancellor of HCT, Mohammad Omran Al Shamsi, said that the students and faculty members of the 17 campuses of HCT in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Ain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah took part in the donation drive which was run between 14-29 January in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).

He noted that the HCT’s donations were in response to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to provide aid for refugees affected by the harsh winter conditions hitting the Levant region.

Vice Chancellor of HCT, Tayeb Kamali, said that HCT acts in accordance to the directives of the wise leadership and seeks to promote humanitarian compassion among its students.
