Khalifa Foundation provides winter aid to over 100,000 people in Lebanon

ABU DHABI, 19th February, 2015 (WAM) — The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Work has distributed aid to 124,000 refugees affected by the winter storms that hit Lebanon, as part of the national campaign, Tarahamu.

The winter aid campaign was launched under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to provide urgent assistance to refugees and displaced people affected by the blizzard that hit the Levant and Iraq this winter.

A delegation from the foundation traveled to Lebanon in early January to carry out the distribution of essential relief supplies, such as food, blankets, and winter clothing.
