Lubna Al Qasimi: UAE Suqia initiative reflects UAE generosity

ABU DHABI: Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation and Head of the U.A.E. Committee for the Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, has said that the U.A.E. Suqia Initiative (charity water) launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to provide clean drinking water to five million people worldwide, reflects the generosity of the founding fathers, and that the U.A.E. is an active partner in the fields of human brotherhood.

Sheikh Lubna praised the pivotal role of the Emirates Red Crescent, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, and confirmed that the Ministry of Development and International Cooperation will document this unique humanitarian initiative of the U.A.E., which, she said, “Will light a candle of hope and is considered as a another step that the U.A.E. has taken under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on the path of philanthropy for all humanity.”
