Ministry of Health Launches Performance Development Skills Training Programs

Dubai: The Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department in the Ministry of Health launched a series of workshops for performance development skills for all the directors of the departments, performance coordinators and authorized departments and sections under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health.

The workshops aim for opening dialogue between the strategy and institutional excellence department with all the sectors and enable all concerned people from following up the operational and strategic plans. They also aim for unifying the understandings of correct strategic planning in all the ministry of health and medical district. They also seek for introducing operational and performance plans in all departments and sections of the ministry.

Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals, stated that the performance development workshops is one of the main initiatives of the strategy and institutional excellence. He also emphasized the importance of the cooperation and coordination of all sectors to work as one comprehensive team and achieve the results of the strategy development and competitive position for the UAE worldwide.

Additionally, the workshop reviewed the UAE 2021 vision and strategy as well as the operational and strategic goals and objectives. It also reviewed the performance results of the strategic plan for the year 2014, challenges and obstacles.

The workshop also concluded the following recommendations: the need for reviewing the strategy periodically and achieve compatibility between the strategic goals and indicators as well as operational indicators and standards that are needed as a basis for reviewing strategy and analysis, an adoption for the planning tools and objectives for strategy and analysis. It also recommended the importance of documentation and archiving all the results to facilitate and benefit from the accomplishments of the workshops.
