Mohamed bin Zayed receives Iraqi Prime Minister

ABU DHABI: Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, arrived in the United Arab Emirates this afternoon on an official visit to the country.

Upon arrival, Dr. Al-Abadi was received by His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Also present were Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice and head of the honorary mission accompanying the Iraqi PM, Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, Ali Mohammad Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Under-Secretary of the Diwan of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Abdullah Ibrahim Abdullah Al Shihhi, UAE Ambassador to Iraq.

The Iraqi Prime Minister was accorded an official reception where the national anthems of the two countries were played, and he inspected the guard of honour. Twenty-one cannon shots were fired to salute the guest.

The delegation accompanying the Iraqi official includes Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, Foreign Minister, Dr. Ali Salman Al-Jumaili, Minister of Planning, Faryad Raundozi, Minister of Culture, Faleh Al-Fayad, National Security Advisor and Mowafak Mahdi Abboud, Ambassador of Iraq, along with a number of senior Iraqi officials.
