Mohamed bin Zayed receives UK Foreign Secretary

ABU DHABI, 29th October, 2015 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received British Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond and his accompanying delegation, at Al Shati Palace.
Sheikh Mohamed discussed with Hammond bilateral relations between the UAE and United Kingdom, and ways to enhance them in the light of the distinguished ties and joint interests.
During the meeting, they tackled the ongoing efforts to find political solutions to the Syrian crisis and put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people, as well as achieve security and stability in the region.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, attended the meeting.
Sheikh Mohamed and Secretary Hammond underscored the importance of continuing regional and international efforts and co-ordination to build confidence and dialogue to reach the desired results and required solutions to establish stability factors among peoples and countries of the region.
They also emphasised that all countries and international institutions and organisations should co-ordinate efforts in the fight against terrorism and terrorist organisations, wherever it exist as and rejection of extremism, violence, as well as promote the spirit of co-existence, understanding and dialogue between the various parties.
Sheikh Mohamed and Hammond also exchanged views on the latest developments at the regional and global levels, as well as a number of issues of mutual concern.
UK’s Ambassador to the UAE, Philip Parham, and a number of UK government officials also attended the meeting.
