ABU DHABI: Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Saturday attended the National Day Cup 120-km endurance race at Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi.
Also in attendance at the race were H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai International Marine Club, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President and President of Emirates Equestrian Federation.
Tens of top male and female riders from all the stables in the UAE and the Gulf region engaged in the ride which was organised by the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club with support from H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian International Horse Racing Festival.
Emirati rider Abdullah Ghanem Al Merri, representing Fazza 3 Stables, finished first on Qiran Al Elm in 4:10:39 at an average speed of 27,72 km per hour, followed by Mohammad Al Abbar, from Al Asefa Stables, on Raqsha, in the second place and Saeed Ahmed Al Harbi on JQ Safi Safra from Fazza 3 Stables in the third place.
