Muslim Council of Elders condemns Daesh’s killing of Moath Al-Kasasbah

ABU DHABI, 4th February, 2015 (WAM) — The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayyeb, has condemned Daesh’s burning and execution of the Jordanian pilot, Moath Al-Kasasbah. The Council stressed that Islam has forbidden assault on the human soul in any way, adding that, “Destroying the Kaaba stone by stone is less significant before Allah than shedding the blood of a Muslim man”.

In its today’s statement, the Council expressed deep sorrow on “this heinous satanic act, burning an innocent soul, which requires facing this terrorist group and applying God’s law on them.” The Muslim Council of Elders called on all international organisations to “face this stray band running amok under the banner of Islam, while Islam has nothing to do with this, threatening, with its awful actions, the world peace desired by all of humanity.” The Council expressed its sincere condolences to His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Jordanian people on the martyrdom of the Jordanian pilot, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow his mercy and forgiveness on Al-Kasasbah.
