New Delhi hosts first UAE-India Businessmen Forum

New Delhi, 6th February, 2015 (WAM) — India’s capital, New Delhi, hosted the first UAE-India Businessmen’s Forum on Thursday with participation by major UAE companies in India.

Organised by the UAE Embassy in India, the forum was attended by Saed Mohammed Al Muhairi, Acting Charge d’affaires at the UAE Embassy in India, Sheikh Saud Ali Al Mu’alla, Acting Commercial Attache.

Anil Wadhwa, Secretary for Middle East at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, and Shailendra Singh, Joint Secretary of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Commerce and Industry attended from the Indian side.

Also in attendance were representatives of leading UAE companies, including DP World, Emaar Properties, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), Etihad Airways, Emirates Airline, Fly Dubai National Bank of Abu Dhabi, RAK Ceramics and First Gulf Bank.

Participants agreed to set up the UAE-India Businessmen’s Council as soon as possible.

The forum, which also brings together Emirati and Indian government officials, seeks to help UAE investors in India to exchange views on investments, as well as offer general expertise.
