ABU DHABI: The National Rehabilitation Centre, NRC, and Emirates National Schools, ENS, have held their first working session to discuss the implementation of the Fawasel programme.
ENS and NRC signed an agreement last month, under the auspices of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, to implement the Fawasel programme, the all-encompassing ‘how-to’ life-skills programme that explores physical education, health and diet, road safety, online safety, and the importance of giving back to the community.
The working session saw a discussion on the implementation of the programme that aims to further develop the skills of students in four key categories, life skills and the prevention of risky behaviour, health and safety, mental health, and social responsibility.
Dr. Hamad Ghaferi, NRC Director-General, said, “Realising the importance of contributing to the building of our nation’s future generation, we’ve started taking active steps towards bringing this partnership with ENS to life. We are proud of this partnership with ENS, who is playing a pioneering role in the implementation of this one-of-a-kind global programme that was tailor made for the UAE. Being the most influential figures in their children’s life, we urge parents to participate in this programme as they are the guardians responsible for the upbringing of tomorrow’s leaders.” Dr. Kenneth Vedra, ENS Director-General, said, ” We are pleased to start the implementation of Fawasel programme in coordination with the National Rehabilitation Centre, as this is a great opportunity for us to work with our kids in a preventive measure on a programme, the first of its kind, which will help us maintain focus on our families and students healthy growth.”
