OIC welcomes Irish Parliament’s resolution backing the recognition of the State of Palestine

Jeddah: The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, welcomed the adoption by the Parliament of Ireland of a resolution backing the recognition of the State of Palestine.

He stated that this move is in line with international legitimacy resolutions on ending Israeli occupation and supporting the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people, including the embodiment of the independent State of Palestine on the borders of 4 June 1967, with Al-Quds As-Shareef as its capital.

The Secretary General expressed his hope that the Irish Government would recognize the Palestinian State, which would contribute to supporting international efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region.
