Omani Minister hails Khalifa Award for Education

MUSCAT, 26th February, 2015 (WAM) — His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq al Said, Omani Minister of Heritage and Culture, affirmed that the Khalifa Award for Education represents one of the pioneering initiatives in the education sector in the Arab nation.

During his visit to the participating pavilion of the Award in the 20th edition of Muscat International Book Fair, Al Said expressed his satisfaction about the participation of the Khalifa Award for Education in the activities of the event.

He was briefed by Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Award and head of the participating delegation in the event, on the objectives and goals of the Award which carries the name of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces as well as the attention of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of the Award.

Al Dhaheri presented the Shield of the Khalifa Award for Education to the Omani minister in appreciation of his visit to the Award’s pavilion, stressing that the visit has helped highlight the role played by the Award, its message and initiatives in the educational field in the Sultanate of Oman.

During the visit, a number of Omani officials besides Mohammed Sultan Saif Al Suwaidi, the UAE Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, accompanied al Said.
