Princess Sarah hails Sheikha Fatima’s efforts in promoting Emirati women

ABU DHABI, 9th February, 2015 (WAM) — Princess Sarah, wife of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Prince Zeid bin Ra’ad, has praised the efforts exerted by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in supporting and empowering the UAE women, who have attained huge achievements in various domains.

During her visit to the GWU’s headquarters, Princess Sarah said that when women are empowered and productive, they will have an important impact on the society.

She also expressed her satisfaction and happiness at being familiarised about the development process of Emirati women. Princess Sarah watched a clip video on the GWU’s march under the chairmanship of Sheikha Fatima and her effective role which contributed towards promoting women’s abilities.

Princess Sarah visited Al Jawhara Hall which contains a number of Arab and international Awards, which were presented to Sheikha Fatima. She also paid a visit to the Sheikha Fatima’s Library which displays intellectual work produced by Emirati and Arab women.

The General Women’s Union presented to Princess Sarah a memento shield, heritage souvenirs and booklets.
