RAK Ruler pardons 147 prisoners on advent of Holy Ramadan

Ras al-Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah has ordered the release of 147 prison inmates from the punitive and correctional establishments at Ras Al Khaimah Police, who were sentenced to jail terms in different cases.

Sheikh Saud has pledged to settle the financial liabilities of the released prisoners, on the occasion of advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Saud gave the directive to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah, President of the Judicial Council to take the necessary procedures to implement the order of the Ruler of RAK on the release of inmates in Ras Al Khaimah, in coordination with the General Headquarters of Ras Al- Khaimah Police ahead of the Holy month of Ramadan.

Counselor Hassan Saeed Al Habsi, Attorney General of RAK Emirate, said that the noble gesture of Sheikh Saud comes in line with Sheikh Saud s keenness to bring happiness and joy to the prisoners and their family members, and give them a chance to lead a good and virtuous life in society.

Al Habsi extended thanks and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Saud for his generous gesture and to the Crown Prince of RAK, on the permanent and continuous follow-up for the public prosecutor and the judiciary in RAK.
