RAK Ruler urges scientists to work out creative solutions to pressing challenges

Ras Al Khaimah, 22nd February, 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, on Sunday opened the seventh annual International Workshop on Aanced Materials (IWAM 2015).

The three-day workshop, organised by Ras Al Khaimah Centre for Aanced Materials (RAK-Cam) under the patronage of Sheikh Saud, is being attended by world’s leading materials scientists and more than 27 researchers from 24 countries, including the UAE, the USA, Europe, Korea and India, who will discuss research papers on aanced technology in energy, electric and photovoltaic engineering, environment, water desalination and health sciences.

Sheikh Saud urged the scientists and researchers to join efforts and expand joint cooperation to harness their expertise in the best interest of humanity.

He said that scientists must find out creative solutions to the tremendous challenges the world is facing in areas of environment, health, and clean energy.

The workshop will focus on new developments in the field of materials science with special attention to energy, health and environmental applications.
