Saud bin Saqr to open Photo Museum in RAK on Wednesday

RAS AL KHAIMAH, 27th October, 2015 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, will inaugurate on Wednesday evening the first museum for memento photographs relating the history of the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah.
The inauguration of the photo museum, owned by Najeeb Abdullah Al Shamsi, Director of Studies and Research Department, General Secretariat of the GCC, will be attended by senior officials, dignitaries and members of the public.
Al Shamsi said the RAK Photo Museum is located behind Al Futtaim Motors ‘Toyota’ in Al Dhait district, RAK, and added, “It documents the history of RAK through photographs and documentary films, demonstrating the RAK’s political, economic and social transformation, and also highlights landmark historic events, including cultural, artistic, educational, health related milestones and other events.”
He noted that the museum will be open to the public, students, all institutions and tourists on all week days.
Al Shamsi said the inauguration of the photo museum, which is the first of its kind in the Emirate of RAK, is part of the UAE’s celebrations for the 44th national day anniversary.
