SHARJAH: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, praised the gracious patronage extended by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to the TV talent show Munshid Al Sharjah, as well as all activities organised by Sharjah Media Corporation.
He also applauded the great efforts exerted by the corporation, represented by Sharjah TV and Radio Station, in offering meaningful and decent programmes, thanking the SMC’s team for the great organisation of Munshid Al Sharjah.
This came during Sheikh Sultan attendance of the final day of the talent show in its seventh season recently at Al Majaz Theatre, which coincides with Sharjah’s celebrations as Capital of Islamic Culture.
In a gracious gesture, Sheikh Sultan offered a fully paid Omra pilgrimage trip to the Holy Land for the six finalists in the show, aiming at encouraging contestants to carry on with their mission to preserve this art.
He also praised the show sponsors for their support, and for assuming their social responsibility towards this rare form of art. He also thanked Takatuf volunteers for their invaluable role in the success of the show.
The show was also attended by Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah, Mohamed Ali Al Noman, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Ali Salem Al Madfaa, Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, Mohamad Ziab AL Mousa, an Education Consultant at Al Diwan Al Amiri, Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Director-General of Sharjah Media Corporation, Mohamed Khalaf, Manager of Sharjah TV and Radio and a group of officials from Sharjah Government, media representatives, and a large audience.
The event commenced with Sheikh Sultan honouring the panel of judges for the seventh season, consisting of Egyptian singer and actor Muhammed Tharwat, Tunisian singer Lutfi Bushnak, Emiarato Munshid Osama Al Safi, and Syrian maestro Assim AL Bunni. Sponsors and show partners were also honoured.
The final competition followed, with the six finalists showing their best as the voting process approached its end. The six finalists were Abdulrahman Al Sairi from KSA, Ahmad Abu Hatab from Jordan, Anas Buraq from Morocco, Kamal Rizk from Algeria, Maan Barghout from Syria and Muhammed Al Wahibi from Oman. The six deserved the high praise they received from the panel, whose members encouraged all contestants to pursue their creativity in this art and not stop after the show.
The show also welcomed its two guests of honour, Turkish Munshid Masoud Krats and Munshid Maher Zein, who presented their best as a beautiful conclusion to the show.
The final voting results were then announced, with Algerian Munshid Kamal Rizk winning the prestigious title of Munshid Al Sharjah 7, followed by Syrian Munshid Maan Barghout, and Moroccan Munshid Anas Buraq in third place. The Sharjah Crown Prince graciously honoured the winners, accompanied by Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa.
The first winner received a prize of AED150,000, in addition to a BMW car, with a contract to produce an album and a video clip by Sharjah Media Corporation. The runner-up received AED100,000 with a contract for a video clip to be produced by SMC, while the third place was awarded AED50,000.
Munshids Masoud Krats and Maher Zein were also honoured before the final fireworks celebrations closed the event.
