Sharjah Ruler issues Decrees on Sharjah Collections of the Art and Sharjah Heritage Institute

SHARJAH: H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued a series of Emiri Decrees on the establishment of Sharjah Heritage Institute and Sharjah Collections of The Art.

Emiri Decree No. 69 for 2014 is regarding the establishment of the Sharjah Collections of the Art. The new cultural body will enjoy full juridical character and capacity to discharge legal tasks necessary to realise its objectives.

The decree stipulates that a law will be issued regarding regulation, objectives, functions and powers, administration, departments and other affairs of the Sharjah-headquarterd institution.

Under Article 1 of Emiri Decree No. 70 of 2014, the Decree establishes Sharjah Heritage Institute to enjoy full juridical character and capacity to discharge legal tasks necessary to realise its objectives, as well as issuing a law regulating the Institute, its objectives, terms of reference, its divisions, departments and all its affairs.

Emiri Decree No. 71 of 2014 stipulates that Hisham Abdullah Saeed Al Madhloum, Director of Arts and Cultural Department at the Department of Culture and Information, will be promoted to the rank of Head of Department and transferred to the Sharjah Collections of The Art and appointed as the Sharjah Collections’s Chairman.

Emiri Decree No. 72 of 2014 stipulated that Abdul Aziz Al Musalam, Director of Heritage and Cultural Affairs in the Department of Culture and Information, will be promoted to the rank of Head of Department and transferred to the Sharjah Heritage Institute and appointed as the Institute’s Chairman.

The Decrees will become effective from the dates they are issued and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
