CAIRO: H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has said the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the UAE and Egypt culminated with cooperation in the area of development.
The remark was made today during the inauguration of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Language School in Nasr City, Cairo, after renovation.
She added that the school and other UAE development projects in Egypt reflect the depth of relations between the two peoples, hoping that the school would further educate a number of female students to contribute effectively to building of greater Egypt.
The event was attended by Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Chairman of the Coordination Office of the UAE-Funded Development Projects in Egypt, Mohammed bin Nakhaira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, Retired Lt. General Mohammed Hilal Al Ka’abi, Head of the Organising Committee of Zayed Charity Marathon, Jalal Mustafa, Commissioner of Cairo, senior officials and students.
Dr. Al Shamsi said that Sheikha Fatima takes interest in the humanitarian initiatives, citing her unlimited support to the education and woman empowerment to achieve the sustainable development. She added that Sheikha Fatima renovated the school, which was named after her when opened 20 years ago, to continue providing the modern education.
She thanked Sheikha Fatima for continuous support to the children of Egypt, who represent future of Arab world.
For his part, the UAE Ambassador to Egypt stressed the depth of relations between the UAE and Egypt, thanks to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President of Egypt, Abdel Fatah El-Sisi.
