Sheikha Jawaher opens Egyptian artist’s exhibition at Sharjah Art Museum

SHARJAH: H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, opened an art exhibition at the Sharjah Art Museum on Monday that highlights the distinct beauty of Egypt’s people and places. Entitled “Reflections from Egypt”, the solo exhibition by the Egyptian Artist Zeinab Amer, which runs until June, presents an overview on the Arab World’s artistic trends, reflecting the spirit of the people and places of Egypt through a combination of colours and lines that embody the richness and creativity of that part of the world, something very close to the artist’s heart.

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi expressed her admiration for the artist’s work by saying, “The diverse Middle Eastern societies shown in the paintings are appealing in colour. Some of these paintings reminded me of the old souqs like the Khan El-Khalili. Those vibrant colours reflected the joy people felt in that era and hopefully spread joy to our people now.” Zeinab Amer thanked Sharjah Museums for providing her with the opportunity to host her exhibition.
