SkyDive Dubai Pro Cycling unveils team for 2015 Season and for the Dubai Tour

DUBAI, 3rd February, 2015 (WAM) — Dubai’s leading cycling team, SkyDive Dubai Pro Cycling today announced its team for the 2015 season. Led by Mohammed Al Murawwi, the 16 member team comprises of cyclists from the UAE (8), Italy (1), Morocco (2), Portugal (1), Spain (1), Russia (1), and Tunisia (2).

“The SkyDive Dubai Pro Cycling Team was formed in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. We are committed to developing local athletes and inspiring them to participate in the sport,” said Nasser Al Neyadi, President of the Emirates Aero Sport Federation and Chairman of the Board of SkyDive Dubai.

Looking to improve on their already great performance in the 2014 Dubai Tour, the team comprises a mix of tour specialists, climbers, time trial specialists, and sprinters, thereby bringing together riders with the right combination of skills. In recent months, athletes from the SkyDive Dubai Pro Cycling Team have won gold at a number of regional tournaments including the Jelajah Tour, Kumano Tour, Lewa Cycling Race, Sharjah Tour, Egypt Tour, and the Singkarak Tour.

“We have formed a team that has mixed experience from across the world and the UAE which we believe will benefit the team in our quest for victory at the Dubai Tour,” continued Nasser Al Neyadi.

The SkyDive Dubai Pro Cycling Team also unveiled their 2015 kit which will be first used on the Dubai Tour. The kit will be a mix of red and black that matches the SkyDive Dubai logo. The team sponsors include SkyDive Dubai ,Title Sponsor, Al Ahli Club and Dubai Sports City, Main Sponsor, Cervelo, Ale, 3T, Rotor, Main technical Sponsors and Elite, Sci-con bags, Schwalbe tires, Bell helmets, and Bicisupport as Technical sponsors. The official team transport partner will be Al Nabooda Automobiles.

Mansoor Bousaiba, former Emirati cyclist who represented the country at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, has been appointed as the team’s General Manager and will be responsible for developing the team’s strategy for the Dubai Tour and for the all season. SkyDive Dubai has also appointed Aritz Arberas as the team’s sports scientist to work full time with the Emirati athletes, providing them with cutting edge scientific training methods in order to assure their evolution.

Following the 2015 Dubai Tour, the SkyDive Dubai Pro Cycling team will travel to Gabon to participate in the International UCI Tour of Amissa Bongo, then onward to Malaysia for the International UCI Tour of Langkawi.
