TCA Abu Dhabi launches its Abu Dhabi Ambassadors Programme

ABU DHABI, 11th February, 2015 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, today launched its Abu Dhabi Ambassadors Programme in a special ceremony.

Abu Dhabi Ambassadors Programme, a major aspect of TCA Abu Dhabi’s Emiratisation strategy, plays a pivotal role in realising the Authority’s vision of improving the emirate’s visitor experience through increased interaction with locals.

Nasser Al Reyami, Standards Regulations and Licensing Department Director at TCA Abu Dhabi, said, “We have selected 106 participants who successfully passed the interview stage from over 300 applicants. We are confident the Programme’s activities will contribute to providing the required expertise and skills to enable our Ambassadors to best present an informed image of Abu Dhabi.” “We anticipate that our new Ambassadors will earnestly interact with the Programme’s various training workshops, which will positively reflect on their career prospects whether they choose to work in the highly promising tourism, culture or other knowledge-based sectors. The Ambassadors Programme has been designed to extend participants’ knowledge about Abu Dhabi, allowing them to professionally introduce the emirate to visitors. The Programme also aims at highlighting the opportunities Abu Dhabi offers to its newcomers,” added Al Reyami.

TCA Abu Dhabi introduced the Ambassadors Programme in 2008 with the aim of expanding participants’ knowledge in tourism and culture nationally and internationally, polishing their skills and boosting their confidence in approaching Abu Dhabi visitors. More than 440 Ambassadors of all walks of life have graduated from the Programme, from university students to government employees and celebrities, who participated in a special edition of the Programme.
