TRANSCO signs agreement with HCT for qualifying UAE nationals for job market

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (TRANSCO), a subsidiary company of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, has signed an agreement with its education partner, the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), to conduct an 18-month technical training programme to qualify UAE nationals seeking to join the company.

The programme will start in February 2015 and will cater to TRANSCO’s demands for technical jobs, as part of its Emiratisation policy. One of TRANSCO’s major business objectives is to recruit, develop and retain qualified U.A.E. nationals.

Inked by Zaid Al Siksek, Managing Director of TRANSCO, and Dr. Tayeb A. Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the HCT, the agreement stipulates that TRANSCO will sponsor a group of applicants who wish to pursue a professional career in the transmission and maintenance operations in the water and electricity sector. The candidates will be trained to enter the job market as ”technicians”.

Al Siksek said the company is committed to training, qualifying and recruiting UAE nationals as a strategic objective of the Emiratisation policy.

Dr. Kamali affirmed the HCT’s readiness to qualify UAE nationals to enter the job market and train more nationals to meet the growing demand for technical jobs.
