UAE air bridge concludes mandate to Libya

ABU DHABI, 8th February, 2015 (WAM) — A third plane loaded with relief supplies left the UAE this morning en route to Al Abraq in Libya, carrying food aid, winter clothes, blankets and health rations, to extend a helping hand to those affected by the current incidents in the region and alleviate their suffering.

The air bridge between the UAE and the Libyan city of Al Abraq comes in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

By sending the third plane, the UAE air bridge initiative has concluded its mandate to send food and medical relief to Libya.

The generous gesture comes within the framework of the UAE’s support for the Libyan people in these difficult circumstances and out of brotherly and humanitarian duty in such hard times.
