RABAT: The UAE Ambassador to Morocco, Al Asri Al Dhaheri, has hosted a reception at the Sofitel Rabat Jardin Des Roses Hotel to mark the UAE’s 43rd National Day.
In attendance at the reception were Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security, and Juma Al Majid, Chairman of Dubai Economic Council.
Also in attendance from Morocco were Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, Lieutenant General Hosni Benslimane, President of the House of Councilors of Morocco Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, Minister of Planning and Development, Mohand Laensar, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training, Lahcen Daoudi, Minister-Delegate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mbarka Bouaida, Wali (governor) of the Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region, Abdelouafi Laftit, Morocco’s chief historian, Abdulhaq Al-Marini, a number of ministers, senior officials, diplomats, business leaders, intellectuals, heads of civil society organisations and media people.
In his speech on the occasion, the Moroccan prime minister lauded the growth of the relations with the UAE due to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.M. King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
On his part, Ambassador Al Dhaheri hailed the outstanding relations between the UAE and Morocco in the various political, economic and security spheres. He also noted the existing cooperation between the UAE and Morocco on combating terrorism and countering all security challenges facing both countries.
The reception featured an exhibition organised by UAE companies on the occasion. The UAE’s national flag carriers, Etihad Airways and Emirates Airlines, and Al Maabar International, Emaar and Maroc Telecom participated in the exhibition.
